SANTA FE FOOD NOT BOMBS MEETING
The next Santa Fe Food Not Bombs meeting will be at Roddey & Corette are hosting the meeting next Thursday 20th, 7:00pm at their place (email roddeyandcocoa@yahoo.com for directions).
Plan A:
Serve food on Fridays (late morning/noontime), during VFP rally at St. Francis & Cerrillos (@ raw produce parking lot / School for the Deaf?). Collect food Thursday afternoons. Form teams for collecting, cooking, serving, clean-up.
Ideas:
- Distribute raw produce even before and/or if we don't cook with it.
- Distribute left-overs after FNB meals (gather yogurt containers, etc. for this purpose).
- Check what Salvation Army, St. Elizabeth's, Kitchen Angels, Food Depot, etc. provide.
- Feed school-kids breakfast.
- Serve where teens gather.
- Serve day laborers at DOL/Guadalupe.
- Coordinate with FNB in Taos, Abq, Las Vegas, Gallup to maintain a presence at Los Alamos.
- Generate our own literature/reprints.
- Table, distribute literature even if we're not ready with food yet.
- Collect/offer unused coupons (set up boxes around town?)
- Sell buttons, books, bookmarks, t-shirts to raise funds to cover printing, gas, extras...
- Get on Wild Oats/Whole Foods 5-cent/unused-shopping-bag donation program (one month/year), to raise funds.
- Gather, compile relevant NM facts (e.g., 16.8% of New Mexicans go hungry for at least a month/year; nuclear PIT production plans; if NM were a country, we'd be the third largest nuclear power in the world.
